Finance Assistant  Temporary (3 months contract)

Full Time – 37 hours per week

Hospice Band 3 (Salary £15,967 - £19,523 per annum dependent upon skills and experience)

We have a fantastic opportunity to join our Birmingham based, highly regarded medium sized charity and make an impact. Birmingham St Mary’s Hospice is looking for someone to join the Finance Processing team as a Finance Assistant for 37 hours/Monday to Friday 9am till 5pm.

Reporting to the Finance Administration Manager, this role is responsible for maintenance of IT systems relating to donors, events and Gift Aid. You will need to process all types of donations from receipt to acknowledgment and ensure they are banked in a timely manner, as well as provide administrative and clerical support for colleagues when necessary.

The key skills required for this role are –

  • Maths and English O Level/GCSE (or equivalent) as minimum;
  • Previous experience in an office environment as part of a team;
  • Excellent IT skills, previous Excel/Donorflex experience preferred ;
  • Ability to work under own initiative and to prioritise workload effectively;
  • Excellent communication skills and experience in a customer care environment

This role is temporary to support the finance processing team during a busy period over Christmas. After a number of successful fundraising campaigns this is a very exciting time to join Birmingham St Mary’s Hospice.
