Volunteer Bereavement Workers Volunteer Bereavement Worker Reports To: Head of Family and Carers Support Team/Bereavement Lead Location: In the person’s home/community or at Birmingham St Mary’s Hospice Hours: Flexible – generally 4 plus hours per week Making a Difference The support given by our Volunteer Bereavement Workers means a great deal to vulnerable, bereaved people. You can really make a difference by supporting people as they find ways to live with their grief and manage their day to day lives. Key Duties You will… Offer bereavement support to the families and friends of our patients, either 1:1 or in a group setting. Offer this service in a safe and confidential environment. Work with people at any point in their bereavement. Help people to find ways of coping with their grief. Will the role suit me?
